DROP IN CLASSES

Drop In Classes for Teens and Adults:

Ballet/Jazz combo class - It is never too late to begin dancing. Adults can enjoy the class for physical fitness or fun.  The class accommodates all levels. Many teens want to begin training but are put in classes with children.  This class offers teens an opportunity to begin training with older students. It helps build confidence as skills are developed. The class alternates with ballet and jazz. 

 

Tap - DCT focuses on ear training and rhythm tap. All tap classes are drop in classes and have levels based on skill. 

 

Hip Hop - DCT provides a multi-level class and an advanced class. Whether you are a beginner or a pro our hip hop class incorporates current and classic technique.

 

Latin/ Afro-Cuban - Our Latin/ afro-Cuban class is high energy and fun.. It is a multi-level class.

 

Musical Theatre - This is a tap/jazz combo class that focuses on musical theatre choreography and performance technique.

 

Strength and Conditioning - These classes offer core training, flexibility Training, and endurance training designed to support dance training.

 

Yoga for Dancers - This class is designed to elongate muscles, develop flexibility and strengthen the core

Drop In Classes for Children 9- 13

 

Ballet - This class is designed to teach basic ballet technique for beginners or for students who are pursuing a general knowledge for versatile training or for musical theatre.  This class is taught as a dance call class. (Learn choreography, perform, critique, do it again)

 

Hip Hop/Contemporary - A combo class for multi levels in this age group.

 

Tap - DCT focuses on ear training and rhythm tap. All tap classes are drop in classes and have levels based on skill.

TRAINING PROGRAMS

Training Programs for Dancers age 3 - Pre-Professional

 

Ballet - includes the following levels: petite, pre-ballet, levels II-VI. The curriculum is based on skills and techniques that must be mastered before advancement to the next level.  Artistry, performance, technique, and consistency are some of the elements considered in the evaluation. Once a student has advanced to level II students self-assess and meet one-on-one with an instructor to evaluate and set session goals for the dancer.  At the end of the session dancers re-visit the prior assessment and evaluate progress with a skills evaluations and another one-on-one conference.  

 

Modern - All ballet students are required to take modern as part of their ballet training from levels II-VI

 

Musical Theatre - includes ballet training, tap, jazz, acting, and vocal performance. The program also includes a live accompaniment once a month. MT students may also take advantage of our  a dance call class to train students to memorize choreography quickly and the ability to execute the choreography at the highest skill.

 

Electives - These classes are options for our dancers to add to their training.  They are also available as a drop-in class.
